About Organic Lerida Figs

Lerida figs are one of the many varieties of figs that grow all around the Mediterranean's Countries.

Amazing in cakes and baking, try adding to lemon cake to add natural sweetness or in place of raisins or sultanas in flapjacks or cookies. Also amazing with goats cheese for an impressive salad or ricotta and honey for a delicious sandwich topping. Popular for adding to pilafs.

They are an ideal snacking substitute for sweets.

These Lerida Organic Figs are available in a range of sizes, all packed in Plastic Free packaging. We use plant-based cellulose bags for these products. Cellulose Plastic Free packaging is biodegradable, simply scrunch up to create air pockets and add to your home compost. It will take around 1-2 months to biodegrade. Or it can be added to general waste, it will break down into vegetable matter.

We bought these last year to perk up the cheese board at Christmas and they were a huge hit! Really sweet and very nice with sharp cheeses. Also nice as a snack for the kids.

Super tasty figs. Lerida is actually not a variety, but the way the figs are processed. Lerida figs are hand flattened. Great as such to snack on with the tiny seeds that deliciously pop under your teeth, or cut up into salads, blended into smoothies or with some oil and vinegar to make a fig vinaigrette. You can rehydrate them in water or freshly squeezed orange juice, or cook them in a syrup (white wine and maple syrup for example); they then get all plumped up and are great served along side ice cream. You can also add them to savoury dishes like vegetable biryani, couscous, Moroccan tagines...
