What are the benefits of eating coconut?

Rich in fibre and medium-chain triglycerides coconuts offer a number of benefits, including improved heart health, weight loss, and digestion. It's high in calories and saturated fat, so you should eat it in moderation. Overall, coconut makes a great addition to a balanced diet.

How do you open a coconut?

Drill a hole in it (where the eyes are), and then let the coconut water drip out into a bowl or large cup. Many people pop the coconut into a bag and then hit it with a hammer or mallet to break it up. If that’s a little physical, try popping it into the oven (Gas Mark 5, 375 Fahrenheit, 190 Celsius) for around 10 minutes until the shell cracks.

Definitely better than the small pre packed portions of coconut bits you can get in shops as it lasts much longer for a start, and alot tastier.
The pre pack coconut bits you can buy from a shop which is only approx a quarter of a whole coconut goes all slimey within 3days of opening, so if u dont get round t eating it within that time period, it goes all slimey and i had to throw it out.
So I tried one of these whole organic coconut, and once opened the main coconut part lasted me ages and never went all horrible and Slimey.
Pitty the local shops dont do whole coconuts anymore I loved it.

Lovely to have coconut water straight from the coconut instead of straight from the bottle. Then you have all the lovely flesh to eat as well. I like to add some shavings to my breakfast each day.
