These Jumbo Sweet Apricots are sourced from Turkey, where, after being selected for their superior size, they are dried to preserve their goodness and to happily improve their flavour as well.
One of the most versatile dried fruits, apricots can be used in sweet and savoury dishes. Try them in Moroccan tagines, North Indian curries, Persian stews and South African barbecue sauces.
How does so2 preserve food?
This product contains SO2 (sulphur dioxide or E220), which is a preservative used in a wide range of foods, including dried fruits and wines. It prevents oxidation and discolouration and it acts as an antimicrobial, giving dried fruits a longer life and the great looks you need for your recipes. SO2 is approved by food safety authorities globally and it is not the cause of any specific concerns (people with sulphites allergy can choose our
unsulphured alternative).
These Apricots Jumbo Sweet Turkey are available in a range of sizes, all packed in Plastic Free packaging. We use plant-based cellulose bags for these products. Cellulose Plastic Free packaging is biodegradable, simply scrunch up to create air pockets and add to your home compost. It will take around 1-2 months to biodegrade. Or it can be added to general waste, it will break down into vegetable matter.
